Presidential Palace Nicolau Lobato, April 3, 2018 – The President of the Republic Francisco Guterres Lú Olo expressed appreciation for the work of the Timor-Leste Scouts’ National Union (UNETL) in the development of the character of Timorese youth. At an audience he granted to a delegation from the Asia Pacific Regional Scout Council, led by its president, Paul Parkinson, the President of the Republic said he feels proud that the Timor-Leste Scouts’ National Union was accepted last August as a member of World Scouts movement.
As a patron, the President of the Republic will continue to support UNETL’s activity in contributing to develop the character and sense of national identity among the Timorese youth. The Head of State said that the Scouts movement can continue to count on his support for the UNETL program.
The President of the Asia Pacific Regional Scouts Council Paul Parkinson thanked President Francisco Guterres Lú Olo for his support as patron of the organization and declared that investing in the UNETL is investing in the future.
