Dili, 5 February 2015 – H.E. the President of the Republic, Taur Matan Ruak, this Thursday, at the Presidential Palace, met with the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.
In the meeting, the Head of State and the Goodwill Ambassador exchanged views on the national development program and the co-operation between Timor-Leste and the UNDP.
HRH Crown Prince of Norway told the press that he was pleased with the meeting which served to discuss activities related to the achievement of the millennium development goals, namely the progress made by Timor-Leste as far peace and reconciliation are concerned.
According to the Goodwill Ambassador, H.E. the President talked about the development of Timor-Leste and the co-operation between Timor-Leste and the United Nations.
On the same occasion, the diplomat assured the Head of State, who was accompanied by the Chief of the Civil House, Fidelis Magalhães, that the UNDP will continue to support Timor-Leste wherever deemed necessary.
